We have been awarded a platinum block in the Rainbows Children’s Hospice Wall of Celebration as recognition for our help in reaching a fundraising target for new facilities.
The Building for the Future appeal at the Loughborough-based hospice has raised £4m, enabling it to expand by extending the bedroom area and building a new therapies and leisure complex including a family support lounge and training facilities.
Linking the existing hospice to the new building will be the Rainbows Wall of Celebration, made up of five windows of glass blocks, each of which can be purchased and personalised with a message. Prices start from £250 for a crystal block right the way up to £20,000 for a platinum block.
We have been presented with a platinum block for free as a thank you for donating over £12,000 to the appeal since 2006 and saving the charity over £150,000 in VAT through the ongoing donation of our professional business services worth £20,000.
John Griffin, Partner, comments, “We are very pleased to have received a platinum block in the Wall of Celebration as recognition for all the money we have raised through a series of fun events over the past few years. These have included monthly dress-down days, charity golf days and Christmas card collections, along with more unusual activities such as ‘It’s a Knockout’. We hope that patients and their families really benefit from these new facilities and enable them to spend some quality time together.”
Geoff Ellis, Chief Executive at Rainbows, said, “We are delighted to present Newby Castleman with a platinum block in our Wall of Celebration. We are extremely grateful for all its support with our Building for the Future appeal, both through its fundraising activities and professional help, which have made a real difference to us and will improve services even further for our young patients.”
