Excellent response to school careers convention

Pupils at Leicester Grammar School aspiring to work in accountancy were recently able to learn more about the profession from some of our in-house experts after we attended a careers convention.

Representatives from our Leicester head office recently visited the Great Glen-based school after being invited to take part along with other businesses and academic institutions so that both parents and students could have an opportunity to discuss possible future careers with experts across a variety of fields.

The large number of pupils who visited our stand were able to learn more about accountancy and life at Newby Castleman whilst also listening to first hand experience from one of our trainees, Dipesh Joshi, who himself joined the firm straight after A-Levels rather than attend university.

Raquel Lesta, Marketing Manager, comments, “We were delighted to take part in the careers convention at Leicester Grammar School and were really pleased with both the number of students we spoke to and also their enthusiasm to find out exactly what a job in the profession entails. The event also provided a good opportunity for us to promote our training contract competition which is offering one lucky Year 12 pupil the chance to win a training contract with the firm at the end of their A Levels.”

For more information about our training contract competition please read our press release here, call John Griffin at our Leicester office on 0116 254 9262 or email him at jbg@newbyc.co.uk.
