Team player Caroline promoted to Head of Audit
We are pleased to announce we have promoted an up-and-coming accountant in her 20s to lead our Audit team.
Caroline Walpole, newly promoted Head of Audit
Caroline Walpole, from Leicester, has worked at our head office of the company since 2012, after graduating from Sheffield University with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
She studied to be a chartered accountant while working at the firm and qualified after three years in 2015. Her promotion means she will be managing a team of five of her colleagues, overseeing and reviewing audit jobs for our clients.
Caroline said, “I've always enjoyed maths and science subjects, and even though I chose to study science at university, I grew up with an experience of accountancy as my dad is an accountant. Sometimes, during the summers, I'd even do work with him, so it gave me a great grounding in the profession.
“Returning to Leicester after graduating, I realised I wanted to pursue a career in accountancy, and I applied for a position at Newby Castleman as I knew they were a highly respected local firm.”
The 29-year-old, who is also a keen swimmer and a season ticket holding supporter of Leicester City Football Club, said, “There's a great team spirit here. I've been given nothing but support and encouragement here at Newby Castleman, by my colleagues and by the Partners, and that support has helped inspire me to work hard and succeed.
“I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity I've been given, and am looking forward to helping the audit team to develop their own experience and knowledge, whilst taking on more responsibilities myself.”
Stephen Castleman, Partner, said: “Caroline has been a dedicated member of our team since she started with us six years ago, and absolutely deserves this promotion. We're confident she'll lead the audit team to further success.”
