Charity begins at work: we go all out for good causes in 2019

We are reflecting on a year packed with regular and one-off fundraising activities and donation drives.

We are proud to have filled our workplace LOROS donation station ten times over this year, providing clothing and other items for the Leicestershire and Rutland hospice charity.

On International Day of Charity this September, we announced Midlands-wide charity The Air Ambulance Service as our new Charity of the Year, following two years of support for local charity, Hope Against Cancer. The announcement was celebrated with a cake and bake sale to get our support for Air Ambulance off the ground.

Shortly afterwards, our staff pushed the baking boat out with an office cake sale in aid of Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 2019, with all funds raised going towards helping Macmillan provide physical, financial and emotional support for those living with cancer.

Our next charity drive saw us feeling flush for wear it pink day 2019, as our staff swapped suits and ties for a range of pink clothing and accessories in order to raise awareness of, and funds for, Breast Cancer Now’s ongoing research into the disease.

Finally, we finished off the year in style by taking part in Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 13th December, in aid of Save the Children.

Our Marketing Manager, Nicola Cooper, says: “We as a company feel strongly about doing our bit to promote and support charitable causes, both locally and nationally.

“2019 has been a particularly active year in this respect, with the whole team keen to take part and raise as much as possible for a range of charities. We look forward to an even more successful year of fundraising and awareness-raising in 2020.”
