On the occasion of Father’s Day (16th June), two of our partners speak about the business their father built, the family tradition of providing a personal service and how to lead by example in the world of work.
Newby Castleman started life as J. Castleman & Co. on King Street, Leicester in 1951. Our founder, John Castleman, built working relationships with many of Leicester’s booming post-war businesses and we continue to serve a considerable number of longstanding clients today.
We are now headed by John Castleman’s son, our Managing Partner Chris Castleman, alongside a team of partners that includes Chris’ brothers, Stephen and Mike.
Chris Castleman says: “From the very beginning, our firm has been built on the principle of delivering a personal service for all our clients, both throughout the East Midlands and nationally. The paramount importance of friendly, personalised advice was something my father understood intuitively and that Stephen, Mike and I were fortunate enough to witness first-hand.
“My professional advice for our employees is to pay close attention to the specific needs of each individual client and put together a bespoke service based on the interests of the client in the long term.“
Stephen Castleman says: “I have always felt that teaching a child how to recognise their strengths, cultivate an area of expertise and put this into practice professionally is an integral part of parenthood.
